My local Lowe's has tool chests on sale for 50% off clearance price. I spoke to an associate who said the sale started yesterday, but they were going quickly. Unsure of deals at other locations, but I purchased the top and bottom chest for $380 after tax. They aren't perfect and I'm sure there are better options for others, but this will fit my needs perfectly.

There were other size chests included in this 50% off sale, but YMMV.

Good discount, and I was considering it, but notice these are only 16" deep (drawer front to back will be a little less than that).

One thing I've learned from all my tool chests and cabinets is that the depth dimension is one you want to maximize. All else equal, it is the simplest way to gain extra storage space. I'd only get one with around 24", knowing what I know now.

Wonder how wide or limited this deal will be, definitely tempted and they're in stock locally but they show full price online.

On clearance stuff they almost always show full price online.

Very YMMV. $309 top $389 bottom in my area. They have some floor models (scratch & dent & no keys) for $279 top

I scanned the barcode in store and it showed full price on the app. That's when I asked about them.

Yeah, I was unsure since there is no way to tell unless you're in store. This store was also setting up new shelving so maybe it was related to clearing space. That said, there were other craftsman models of similar size that were not on clearance sale.
