I have 2 kids with QC45. Gone through 3 returns. 1 stopped working completely, 1 got crackling, 1 started to melt at USBC connection. Quality wasn't what I expected from Bose.

I've had similar issues. I don't know what the best over the ear noise cancelling headphones are, but I don't know that bose is the answer

Thanks for your comment. I heard Bose is not as good as it's competitor Sony. Didn't expect that bad.

I have Bose AE2 soundlink's i've been using them for years and they sound amazing and are pretty comfortable. I also have a pair of wireless earbuds and those have been great. I was just looking to upgrade to these and now you all have me scared too....

From what I just read... QC45 is the newer model and better. The 700 has more tech features.

I think the 45s and the 700s are both excellent, however, I chose to buy the 700s over the 45s around Christmas time. My understanding is the 700s have better control over the amount of cancelation and are less likely to cause vertigo, particularly when flying (some people report a constant downward sensation with n/c headphones, like being in an elevator going down).

I recently completed RT flights to California and was very pleased with the 700s performance: noise cancellation and sound quality were great. It made flying more enjoyable.

I think the 700s are easily worth the extra $17 in the current offer.

I've had the following the Bose 700 ,qc45, ultra. Sony xm4, xm5 and the apple AirPod max. If you have an iPhone the max are hands down the best.

I bought this QC45 from Costco last month, I find the music to be too sharp, to a point it gives me a headache. I had QC35 which I really liked.
