The details say that price includes ACP credit, so they are showing you plans with the $30 ACP discount factored in. April is the final month of the ACP credit unless the government funds the program to continue.

This is a very important detail - if the ACP ends, and you've "upgraded" your plan, you're looking at a $30 increase (for 2 years), and more than that later (after 2 years). If you leave your plan alone, you keep the base $9.95 price (forever-ish).

Will this kick you out of Internet essentials and turn you into a regular Xfinity customer?

Can you return to essentials after the 2 year promo is over?

Looks like you have to have been on ACP since September 2023. I only qualified in January 2024.

Yeah I don't know where OP is getting the idea this means Xfinity is letting customers keep $30 credit after next month, the screenshots just shows they haven't updated their system, In fact Xfinity customers enrolled in ACP program have been receiving emails during the past few weeks (including today) saying how they will be losing their credit soon, and that they may qualify for for their original 50mpbs for as low as $9.95 per month, no mention at all of Xfinity continue to honor $30 credit for the next two years

I have the 200Mbs plan and they raised the price to $79/month.
Then I get an email saying they raised my internet speed by as much as double for no extra charge.
So I checked the speed and it was 325Mbs.
But the city recently had fiber optic cable installed in our neighborhood and they are offering internet
for $50 for 500Mbs. I already ordered it and am waiting for installation.

Agreed... I just received an email today from Xfinity that my $30 ACP credit will be removed after April and there's no mention of this promo that the OP referenced in his post.

A good thing with staying with Internet Essential is no fees, no taxes, no rental charges, $9.95 flat bill foreverish.

That was the policy at one time and may still be the case that once you upgrade out of Internet Essentials you CAN NOT go back.

Also, as others have said if ACP is not renewed by Congress then your bill will increase $30 per month and even more after 24 months.

Yeah. Idk if they're doing anything special for the customers they lured into upgrading with the ACP but the terms for signing up for Internet Essentials state you can't have been an Xfinity customer in the past 90 days. So if they don't let you "go back" you'd need to cancel Xfinity service for 3 months then sign up as a new customer for Essentials.

I'm glad this deal seems to be BS because the way it was described sounded like they were gonna try to phase out Internet Essentials all together.

Perhaps they are doing something special in order to retain ACP customers.

Last year I was "lured into" a 500MBS plan because of ACP. In the past when I looked for cheaper options on Xfinity's site, there were none available.

Today when I log in I see both the OP's $35 a month (after the $10/m auto-pay discount) 2 year plan, and ALSO both the $10 a month 50MBS Essentials and $30 a month 100MBS Essentials Plus options. It allowed me to add either option to my online cart.

I did not go through with the change, because for me the extra $5 for faster speeds for 2 years is worth it, but I think they have loosened their restrictions for the moment to avoid losing ACP customers.
