These are excellent at their msrp, even better at 16 shipped. Solid way to dip your toes into what chifi has to offer, might be endgame for someone that has old ears. If you like them, you'll like Moondrops house sound and it's safe to try a few more from them at a higher price tag.

All 3 are really weird choices if you're just chasing bass. There are better out there in.... every price range (and.... considering the price *brackets* for iems these days, you're really sort of all over the place here).

Also saying "bassy music"... is kind of not getting you any closer to what you're looking for. Are you listening to hip hop? Rock? EDM? Like *what kind* of bass, yaknow? Frankly I would suggest trying (in no particular order):

Blon Z300
Truthear Zero Blue
Simgot ew200 (the em6l is.... fine. it's really a gaming set and I can't recommend it for anything else. they're sibilant, on purpose, in a way that is great for atmospheric detail, but bad for music... literally anything else from their lineup is better for music).
Tangzu Heyday (best planar bass, hands down)
QKZ Hades (you only care about bass, f every other freq range)

Yeah... there are a few hbb collabs in this rec list but he... knows bass.
Not sure how you expect recommendations when you won't say what "your" music is.

Is it furrycore?
Chu got to be kidding me with these low, low prices.

Link the squigs champ. You wanna die on this hill, die on it. The red and blue literally use the *same* drivers, in the same hyperbolic configuration. The only difference is dampening. Show us the "measurable distortion". What nonsense.

LOL you link Amir (broken links that just go to the forum splash page, btw). No one in the earphone hobby cares what Amir thinks, big guy. Unit variance, his equipment, literally any number of factors play into his results (mostly his biases, maybe he just doesn't like the color blue as much since it doesn't look nice next to a pink panther statue, or he hadn't had enough coffee).

Do you have robot ears? Not a measurement set, but literally in your head? If not you can't hear the "distortion" in the blue. You can't. You can "subjectively" disagree all you'd like.

My hearing cuts out at 14k... There is no audible difference in the mids and treble of 2 sets. The bass is better *overall*(for most libraries) on the Red, sure, but the suggestion I gave for the Blue was specifically to someone who gave a vague description about bassy music. Blue does big bass better than the Red, without scaling (no need for an amp to get the same results you're talking about from the low end of the Red+adapter).

https://hbb.squig.link/?share=IEF...n_Zero_Red

Like a 2% difference across the board Except the 15k tuck (which they literally just did to make the Red appeal to gamers) and the elevated Midbass on the Blue (which makes it better from the standpoint of my suggestion).

My test gear: Neo iDsD, EF400, EF500, A90D w/ Musician Draco, iDsD Finale w/Pixel, apple dongle. Listening at 80-85db.

I love buying cheap earphones and ordered a couple of these just to get next-morning delivery. As soon as I started using them with my phone and I heard how inefficient the drivers were with the lower-than-normal volume I knew these are very good and would sound even better with a high-power DAC. I had a genuine 'wow' moment as soon as I did and started listening on my PC. No farting at all!! I messed with the eq to get them to test their limits and see their failings.... none. My 1More Quad-drivers a̶r̶e̶ were my main listening earphones and cost much more. These little guys sound better for much less. And contrary to reviews I not only did not find them uncomfortable, but I am able to listen to them all day with no issue at all, where typically any earphone will irritate my right-ear especially. I want to buy these for everyone I know but they won't give it the power it needs to truly appreciate them.

Daily use 7hz Zero with stock tips for everything (gaming, movies, music). Mainly listen to EDM (house, future bass, melodic dupstep) and k-pop (mostly girl groups/female ballads) sprinkled with hodgepodge of 80-90s rock/soft rock and hip-hop. Guess that would mean I'm a basic v-shape enjoyer? Dontknow

What's best upgrade option around $50-$100? I've been debating going for Simgot EW200 along with an Arrti T10 or just Simgot EA500LM and be done. 1st option is a modest upgrade in EW200 with the T10 being purely curiosity for planars as I've got no experience with them. 2nd option is based on all the hype of the 500LM and overall quality of IEM itself? I also saw another option thrown out earlier in thread in the Kinera Phoenixcall but it's a bit above my upper budget threshold.

Any feedback or additional suggestions is appreciated. Also I've crosesd off Truthear Zero Blue/Red as I want to try something not Crinacle tuned, it's cheap looking and fit concerns with the big nozzle.

They're going to be okay but IEM have a small soundstage which is why you don't see them used as much- directional positioning is more difficult.
Does it really matter that much? Probably not, but it would be remiss to ignore that.

I would say yes because I am using them as my mains right now. And I'm using them with a cheap Razer Onyx dac for convenience and they sound eff'n great on anything. They would probably sound even better on one of my higher tier dac/amps. Been playing Helldivers II, Heroes of the Storm, and Deep Rock Galactic, with the Boom audio app on Windows. Sound soooo goood. They are cheap, buy them.

Great IEMs! I have the OG Chu's. My latest in my collection is the Tangzu Wang'er which are about $25 and are even better than the OG Chu's.

Currently have 7hz salnotes and Aria. Salnotes are so good at their price point as well (was 21 when I purchased).
Chu's are solid for what they are and highly rated at their under 20 price point.
Aria would be the next step up (currently my daily drivers) . but I love how light the Salnotes are.
