I knew they used to make them in China. Didn't know about Cambodia. I wonder if that makes them any safer? This is a good price, but I usually err on the side of caution when it comes to the dogs. Thoughts, anyone?
I'm avoiding these for my dog. As the other SD member stated - China sets up factories in difft countries and they also supply the raw material to other countries. If you recall the big dog food debacle from many years ago, there's a giant manufacturer in Canada that produces formulated dog foods for numerous dog food brands. The issue they had was the source of one of their ingredients was a tainted ingredient from China.
The above said, I wouldn't worry as much about Italy or Germany as they are part of the EU. USA is preferred, as well, of course. In addition, there's very little ingredients in these rawhides if you read the ingredients… it's probably okay, but my concern is the rawhide itself. I suspect they may use chemicals to preserve the rawhide that are NOT listed in the overall ingredients… and good chance the rawhide is sourced from China, which borders Vietnam and Cambodia. So, I, personally, would not feed these to my dog.
My wife works with manufacturers all around the world and there is nothing that stops Chinese companies from setting up in other countries. That fancy sweater you bought that was made in Italy? Could easily have been a Chinese company using Chinese workers located in Italy. Same thing here- if you are concerned that Chinese companies cut corners when it comes to food safety, you're going to have to buy made in the USA where there is at least some (but not perfect) food and safety regulation.
Most of the rawhide I buy is either from the US or South America

Thank you for posting! As a previous commenter said, your link takes us to the $3.40 (reduced a bit more now from the $3.80) product on Amazon while this one here on front page does not. I'm glad you commented.
If you're really concerned about what your dog ingests, get a cheap dehydrator. Sweet potatoes are under $1/lb and chicken breast can be found on sale from $1.50-$2.50/lb. Doesn't take a lot of time, your pup will have fewer vet visits, and will love you even more for it
