"Note that the 64GB version only offers 4GB of RAM. The 128GB version (also on sale, for $230) bumps the RAM up to 8GB. Not sure if it's worth the $50 additional, since the storage can be expanded with a MicroSD card. Would like to hear from anyone that's compared the performance of these."

the 128 GB is $219.99 instead of $269

Go with the 8GB with updated RAM; only $219.99. Best new budget tablet in the market right now.

Then spend on a Galaxy Tab S9+ instead of comparing a cheap Android tablet to an M1 iPad
Problem is that there are very few Android tablets that can compete with Android phones in specs and the apps are clunky and unoptimized when the screen size is in that 8-11in window. They basically serve one purpose: watching videos.

But when it comes to an iPad Pro, even Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has no chance against an M2 or M3 chip. They are stacked with RAM and high refresh displays. I hate iOS and their monopoly, but no one can compete with their tablets in terms of user experience if you have the money to spend.

Not really, for most people's usage a top of the line Android is also overkill.

Of course it worth the $50. 4 gb is laggy.

How is the performance and UI of these tablets? I'm an android use - tried to go cheap with a fire tablet and am pulling my hair at how slow it is compared to a 2016 iPad. Had my eyes set on an M1 iPad but always hate spending money on an overpriced apple. I just need something that works smoothly and can be supported for 7-8 years
7-8 years? That's a long time...

I got tired of buying Samsung tablets every 3 years, even their premium model. Their support for updates is pathetic. This is coming from a long time Android user. I am still on Team Android for phones but I opted for an iPad for my current tablet. The 9th Gen for $249. I've been happy with it so far. Based on the history of Apple supporting their products, I should be set for at least 5-6 years.
yeah but you cannot get youtube revanced on ios

Ewaste, I will steer away from the A series, A series really hurts the android Samsung name. If I was the manufacturer I will not make them, SOC is soo weak it chocks in its own.

Also curious. Fire Max has an IPS screen while this has a TFT screen. I know it can still sideload Google Play. My wife has one.

This thing has known issues with gaming and two finger touch. No statements from Samsung as to if and when it will be fixed but there are complaints online dating back 2 months already.

Bought as a gift for my daughter after her kindle started smoking while charging. Debated between this and an iPad. I prefer android but she can't play roblox because of the two finger touch issues it caused camera issues. It happen in other games as well and is very similar to stick drift. I'm about ready to just return it now and buy a fire tablet again. Do not buy.
Not sure why someone gave a thumbs down. I had the same exact experience.

I got the 4 gig model for my toddlers. They don't need to be playing with my ultra.

yea I have a 2021 Kindle - it's fast enough but the lack of google apps is what annoys me.
you can add google play store onto most Kindle Fire's. Then add all the necessary google apps.

No personal experience, but I understand from another forum that plugging in headphones with a 3.5 mm jack resolves the doble touch problem?

Definitely worth trying. Good luck

Is this a lot faster than the Amazon Fire tablet 2022 plus? The display is TFT on the Samsung tablet. The Amazon Fire tablet is IPS. It seems like the Fire tablet has better display?

It's definitely worth the $50. The 64 was so slow! Lag all day everyday. Unless you're only using it for basic browsing and youtube.
