Original price is either $30 or $25, never $39. Available for the same price at Target:

That's frustrating. The Amazon "list price" just appears to be completely made up garbage most of the time. It's like they find the highest price listed out there somewhere, at some point, and use that to display huge discounts for their normal priced stuff. No one is paying Fiskars MSRP on this stuff. It sucks that SD staff and Amazon have the same incentives to mislead people here.

SD staff asked me to post list price that is available on Amazon. Technically it is 38.99 on Friskars site, but I agree - that is wrong price to compare.
For better price comparison I also post price before the sale.

Amazon has a policy in place on what prices to show: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/cu...H72AX8D2TD

I'm not necessarily trying to blame you. It's a crap policy and they decide which price to display based on what they think will result in more sales (showing the highest possible discount). The same item is being sold, not on sale, at Home Depot for $30. That's the type of thing that actually matters to consumers. Amazon decided it was more profitable to use "list price" instead of "typical price," so that's what they used.

I get it, that's why I also post "previous" price.
There is something wrong with this particular item. CCC has no price tracking information for it. Maybe that's why Amazon uses list price, because this item has not been available recently. But that's only my guess.

Anyway - thanks for the feedback and for the price research! I can't really check every available retailer for a better price and every piece of information helps other members to make better informed decision!

The list price is the MSRP. These usually mean they arent deals.
When a listing shows Typical Price and it's striked through like the List Price is, those are usually real sales. I dont get SD's fascination either about comparing to a MSRP, which will always be cheaper no matter where you shop. On S&S promos, look for One Time Price for real sales.
There's Facebook groups and Sub-reddits that claim to be deal groups that posts misleading "deals" comparing them to the list price. 90% of those posts are not real deals either.

I have a beefier powergear set but honestly Fiskars has some really nice gardening tools. If you're in the market definitely try them out.

If you don't need the 28" reach, how does this compare to the Costco deal? These are 19.99 in store. https://www.costco.com/fiskars-15...18638.html
