So the bundle with panel is $1000 less expensive that the one without panel, looks like a price error to me

This product really intrigued me until I found the following in the FAq for the smart panel. Apparently those of us with grid-tied rooftop solar can't operate solar+storage independently when the power / grid is down. Looks like I will need to save a little longer for a grid-tied battery:

What if my house panel is already connected to a rooftop solar system?

If your house panel is already connected to a rooftop solar system (AC Coupling) through an inverter that links to a dedicated breaker, it is compatible with our Smart Home Panel 2. Please be aware that in the event the grid fails, the AC coupling system will also cease to function because it relies on detecting the electrical signal from the grid. When the grid is operational, the solar system can supply power to the Delta Pro Ultra, treating it as a load.

If I have an existing solar system (panels and inverter, no battery backup), how and what would I need to connect this into my system? What would installation typically cost? Thanks.

Well that's very odd, when I posted it the prices were switched!

You'd need an interconnect of some sort. The smart panel would do this automatically, but there are likely other options out there. Cost is a hard question to answer, really depends on your needs and your location.

Each inverter has a high (max 450v) and low (max 150v) voltage PV input, so with the Smart Home Panel 2 you can have up to 3 inverters. Really depends on the size of your system and what you want. If you already have the panels and inverter probably makes sense to just add a battery (or multiple batteries), something like an EG4 battery.

It's absolutely impossible to tell you how much it would cost or what makes sense for you with almost no information.

Which means it's not for UPS purposes.

Ecoflow needs to work with installers if they really want to become mainstream. Most solar installers don't know how to use their products so you have to find an electrician willing to install this.

Thanks. So to more specifically get a ballpark estimate of install costs etc, I have a 8.16 kW system (24 panels) and a solar edge inverter. I'd like to use this as a backup power supply and also as a power source tap into during peak times everyday due to TOU rates. Would that be possible? Is the smart panel able to control the battery system around TOU rates?
