Just a heads up about Gateway. A refurb may be fine, but Gateway units have serious problems with quality. My 14", similar to this one, had the display screen come loose at the top (patched w/ Scotch tape) after 13-1/2 months. Gateway said tough titty, out of warranty. Several other folks here on SD had the same problem. My laptop never left the den & was handled w/ kid gloves. Caveat emptor.

Check previous posts for the refurbs of this model. I bought this new and unlike stegall it's been fantastic for me after years of use. However, the refurbs have been extremely inconsistent in quality.

Yup gateway didn't even bother replying when I emailed them this laptop died within 3 months. Repeatedly emailed them and no response.
