Quake via LAN on school PCs during study hall circa 2005/2006, best of times. Do it up!

I'm certain quake 2 ran better on my 1999 PC than it will on a Switch.

I kicked Thresh's a$$ in Quake 1. It was so easy. He was scared of me every time we played.

I was still hoping for an outright remaster Stick Out Tongue I mean...after Quake IV maybe not so much? Same with "Unreal Tournament" lol. Old man gripes maybe...but whatever Stick Out Tongue

Not a fan of CPMA Frown

However....some of the trickjumping/speedrun/race maps absolutely blow my mind and really restores my faith in humanity and gaming Smilie

And watching pro Duels still never gets old to me.

edit edit: All in all... still can't believe how good Quake is lol
Best game ever. Was. Maybe not today's QC lol. Unreal 3 Black plus mods was also the best knees.

Anyone used to play Quake World back in the day around 1997? Used to play it in the dorms at UT Austin over the T1 connection. Fun stuff and was even in a clan, clan [CAO], I wonder what happened to those guys.

Don't think, just buy it now! It's very fun and runs silky smooth, yes, even on Switch.

Brings back memories. Fun times. Spent hundreds if not thousands of hours on Q3A.

Q2 rules. Quake 3 was already enhanced in Quake Live and still has joinable servers. Do we want Quake 1? Sounds like we want Quake 5 lol.

Yep. 128.x.x.x T1 in the dorm. Clan [APC] - we had a web page.

Quake 2 isn't better than UT3 if you want an arena shooter. UT3 Black is insane fun, full of custom maps, crazy vehicles, titans and modders. Similar to Q3A and Quake Live in play but it's fun for different reasons. If you tried to ride a hoverboard down the center of a map in Quake you'll be in the wrong place as soon as someone sees you. But UT just took down their mainstream servers and it isn't cross platform. Unreal you can secondary attack with each weapon like in Perfect Dark. I prefer Quake games so I don't know of an Unreal that has a first player campaign mode like Quake 1 and 2. Far as I know UT & 2004 just battles and maps that don't justify attempting to nail the perfect 4-step rocket jump to rail a hundred times over again until you can sleep at night.

Still have and play Q3A on my PC. Feel the same excitement like when I played the first time in 2005. Longest yard was and is still my all-time favorite map and it helped hone my railgun n rocket launcher skills ❤️

Longest Yard is what's up. That CTF symmetry map was legit, too. Quake Champions had a mode called Rip N' Tear that you could use the Doomguy with Shotgun while double-jumping through the longest yard making things very unpredictable.

This is one of the best games ever made and still stands the test of time today. When this game came out i was in 8th grade, and have been playing it off and on since.
