I believe the 7800x3d is also on sale with an additional coupon. Google some benchmarks and you'll see, from a gaming perspective, the 7800x3d is the better CPU.

I was surprised to find out the same today. I am still torn on which processor to get.

The 7800x3d can use 8 cores for 3d cache while the 7900x3d only uses 6 cores for it.
For only gaming 7800x3d is better.
7900x3D would be a better choice if one is doing heavy encoding and also wants to use the same system for gaming.
