I had an ego carbon fiber powerload string trimmer and wanted to go 100% with another company as I had more equipment with them and wanted just one battery style. I sold the ego and regret it to this day. The powerload is a game changer compared to the high end professional POS string trimmer I have now.

The reason this one's so cheap because it's cheaply made with nylon bushings if you're regular homeowner only use it lightly it will probably be okay. you want something to last spend a little more money and get a better one. also ego brand does not longer stand by their products like they used to I would personally know anything else other than ego

Three out of three Ego batteries have died prematurely. Never again.

My charger for the lawnmower died and the batteries do not charge a 100% with the charger that came with my trimmer. I don't recommend this brand

How long have you had these batteires and were they stored at "not so cold/room" tempratures? Curios as I am looking at purchasing the leaf blower....

I've had good experiences with Ego. Is this worth buying? I have the hedge trimmer and the blower

This model vs ST1523S
- The 2.5 Ah battery is better balanced than the 4 Ah.(IMO)
- It has two speed modes and a variable speed trigger within that mode ("slow" 3,500-4,500 and "fast" 4000-5,800). While the ST1523 only does the "fast" mode; 3,500-3,999
- The carbon fiber is 0.2 lbs lighter, which is more than offset by the 4 Ah battery (1.9 lbs heavier).
- Telescopic shaft for short people, and rotating handle to turn it into a poor-man's edger (or to match a slope's edge).

The ST1511T is the latest generation in the Aluminum line. The ST1523S is the older generation in the carbon fiber line.

Soak your stinger line in water overnight. It makes it stronger. Then you don't have to reload that often. Main reason people like the fancy loading is they load too often due to crappy string.

They were much better when home depot was the only distributor
