Absolutely. I just came across a YouTube channel with extensive sound comparisons between Edifier speakers. If they are to be believed, to my big surprise, R1280DB sounds terrible even in comparison to R1280T. I would thought they should sound more alike. Pick either the R1280T or the R1700BT. Skip the R1280DB altogether.

They all sound terrible compared to the Slickdeal's legendary BS22, Which is $~50-70 all day on craigslist. woot

You add an aiyima for $50, or a smaller dac/amp Fosi combo, you're way ahead of what the edifiers can do.
