Bought these before but they definitely don't last long.

I was looking up battery reviews today from various manufactures - Duracell, Rayovac and these Energizers, and found there are complaints of leaking battery issues in recent year and not lasting longer than a few months, some are stated to not have full charge on opening packages.

Maybe some people are getting ok batches, while other not so much... but recently all seem to have quality control issues. I'm wondering if Buying in bulk may not be as reliable as in past years.

Batteries are one item NOT to buy from a dollar store. They're usually not alkaline and will typically leak far more often.

Agree with this comment. I've had much better luck with Energizers from Amazon than cheap batteries from dollar stores or HF.

I've bought from Amazon many times and never had an issue regarding leakage or time used. Such though could depend on the purpose. Best part of smart phones are the cameras. The old digitals that took batteries would run down so often that for a wedding, I would need three sets.

$1.75 Daiso batteries are backed by Japanese culture of no lying or cheating, quite the opposite of their close neighbor. I prefer Daiso.

They are carrying this new brand of Alkaline batteries - eCircuit or Circuit - I tried them, they were fine

Never had leaking problems.

Alkaline batteries regardless if its Duracell or XingChao branded will leak if you leave them for months in a device such as a remote without using them

I should clarify I am referring to Dollar Tree specifically

I may just stick to Energizer or Rayovac brand and look around where ever they are cheaper, and just buy around 20 or less batteries at a time. The key may be not leave them sitting around for longer than a year or 2 since there is potential leaking from unused batteries.

Good point, sounds obvious now that you say it. It's tempting to buy bulk since expiration on batteries are so long.
