thanks for posting this OP Smilie .. but can someone who knows more about this stuff let me know what tier this falls into? EVGA supernova appears so many times in this list I'm having a hard time figuring it out

https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/

it does say "GT" so.. maybe Tier B?

" EVGA | Supernova : B5 / G+ / G5 / GD 2017 / GM [SFX] / GT <=1000W / =>GQ 850W / GA "

It's a b tier on the latest list. It's not bad for this price. I had one from the last Amazon sale, same price. Not atx 3.0 or pcie 5.0, but solid.

It is a great B tier PSU! All the Supernova GT PSU's that are less than 1000 w fall into the B tier. To top it off, EVGA is a very good brand that is trusted within the PC building community. It has a solid warranty!

Question:
This PSU only offers one CPU power cable an one motherboard 8 pin power cable,
should these two cables be plugged into the two 8 pin connectors that are very close to CPU on a Z790 motherboard?

I want to know the voltage wire spec of the CPU1 cable and the 8 pin motherboard power cable.
I dont want to burn anything.

You really should be reading your motherboard's manual, instead of asking here. It will likely answer that exact question.

Usually unless you are overclocking it and looking for peak performance you are fine with only 1 8 pin plugged in. Sometimes the PCIe 8 pin spots can go to the MB, read the manual.

Great power supply for the price and what it is. No PCIe 5 is the only downside.

The current 8 pin GPU cable can handle 150W.
PCIe 5 power cable would need to be able to handle 600W.
It doesn't make sense to support PCIe 5 from a 650W PSU

Recently, I was assembling a new PC with an MSI Pro Z790 motherboard and hesitated when I saw the two 8pin slots for the CPU. Because the 750w PSU I had only had one 8pin, and some people said that plugging in just one 8pin would be enough, but in that case, the manufacturer would have made only one. I think the reason the manufacturer bothered to make two was because of the manufacturer's recommendation. So in the end, I felt relieved when I bought a new PSU that supports 2 CPU pins from Amazon and assembled it.

Does anyone know how this shows up on your credit card if you purchase through Walmart? I still have a 20% cash back AMEX offer to use, but I'm skeptical it will show up as Walmart.com

I bought something from Newegg via Walmart last month with my Amex and it showed up as WALMART.COM 80096665BENTONVILLE AR
