I also just bought this monitor from Micro Center open-box. It has overheating issues when you turn the brightness up it shuts off.
My last gen ultragear gets squiggly lines turning on sometimes. Someone said it's bad soldering or something with the way panel heats up.
There's plenty of ppl saying this just google ultragear squiggly lines. LG needs to check on China making panels for them. Quality is going down. It's not broken but it shouldn't have a defect like that they're marking as a high end product. Or was I wrong?

yeah I heard it's possible I could have a bad power adapter, unfortunately I don't have another one to test it with
No, they only have one FALD monitor, the 27GR95UM, and it's $900, which is $100 more than the 27" OLED. Though the mini-led is 4k 144hz vs OLED 1440 240hz

Usually, for fast Twitch games, people go for oled. 1440p could get better frames rate, and 240hz is faster, and oled has faster response time.
For movies, it has deeper black, no blooming (some people can not tell the difference if it is not side by side). I think they advertised qd oled to have more realistic color.
I recently bought this monitor and hdr is horrible. If you disable hdr the monitor picture is great.
You are paying $300-ish for an IPS 4K high fresh rate monitor, I guess keep the expectations in check. Matter of fact his is already the better IPS for HDR and LG's firmware tracking is spot on. For none hard core content consumption it's solid.

"Rapid IPS" or "fast ips" was not the LG nano ips, they might be similar but not same thing.
