this is for contractors, home builders, iron workers, car shops and the like. this is the most powerful sub 7" angle grinder money can buy. absolute overkill for home users. as mentioned above, go with something cheap but name brand from home depot or amazon

Thanks for the math breakdown OP. Bought without sales tax, Alabama. Will see the batteries and charger local and hope to make the tool free for me.

Asking as a new first time homebuyer. I would probably need to use a grinder, maybe once in an year. Do I really need to spend all this to have this tool handy?

You want to buy a 110V corded grinder. Any brand. Those are available at any box store dirt cheap. You'll have to figure out what you want for sanding abrasives, cutting abrasives or steel cutting blades for what you need it.

Think of it as stepping into the Dewalt world. Tool as stated basically free and 2 9ah will last a good time on other Dewalt tools you can get using the HD hack to make others tools cheap knowing you have great batteries.

I have plenty of batteries so selling these to net me the tool nearly free was a no brainer.

I bought a corded grinder from harbor freight for $20 20 years ago. I've used it a decent amount, but far from a lot. I let waiting for it to break but it doesn't. Adjust that price for inflation and that's what you should do.

I'm only here because I'm in the DeWalt ecosystem and I'd love the convenience of a cordless grinder when I do need it. Even then this is a lot for me. I would do well with their cheaper models just fine.

I'm rocking the harbor freight angle grinder as well. It's wired but it's my workhorse and I have abused the heck out of it meaning cut lots of auto body bolts and rust. Additionally, I built a a retaining wall and cut lots of concrete pavers.

All that said I have the 20v xr brushless when I don't want to hunt for an outlet and it's great so I imagine the 60v is probably insane overkill

The batteries have been on sale for $220+/- as a 2 pack (9Ah 60V) a few times. So basically, the tool would equate to be $100+/-. Still a decent deal in my opinion. But like some have said, it's overkill for the average diyer. I'm trying to figure out if I need this. If you're a welder or work with alot of metal, it's a good buy but a corded version is much better at the shop.

Yea, I point that out in the OP. if you would have read it, you would have known that a 2 stage fast charger is also included in this bundle. It's $60-$70 when on sale from an authorized vendor (like woot). That same charger is typically $120 ay Home Depot. That charger goes for like $50 second hand on fleabay.

So no, the tool does not come out to $100

There is also a pretty nice tool bag included. Whether or not you think that's worth anything is up to you.

I've had one for many years. I have only once used it and that was to cut a boot off my car.

In the photo it says it comes with 2 of the dcb206 batteries. That is the 6.0 ah regular batteries when I google it. I see the picture shows the 9.0 flexvolt batteries. Which does it come with?

On the site, the picture with everything that is included doesn't have the charger on there... Weird.

edit: and like someone else mentioned, it also shows that kit coming with 2 dc206 batteries, not 209, which are 6ah instead of the 9ah....I guess purchase at your own risk... this isn't a home Depot or Lowe's.
