I love these sets. Use them all the time and have only lost one bit so far.

I've had my Toolcheck+ close to a decade. I've got a few little complaints -such as when I store it in any pocket, including my toolbag side pocket, the slide mechanism to retain the ratchet always opens up and I drop either the ratchet or the rapidaptor. The bit-holding handle is really too narrow to allow for moderate torque, and one of the two plastic nubs that holds the handle section snapped. I wasn't there when it happened; I imagine a coworker dropped it.

That said, the set has held up very well, including all but a couple of the bits. The bit assortment is great, the mini ratchet is one of the smoothest out there with just the right amount of texture on the thumbwheel. The set has saved me significant time on some tasks, getting to recessed fasteners without having to first remove lots of additional components for access.

If you don't need the sockets, I can also recommend the https://www.harborfreight.com/loc...58074.html
I keep one of these sets in my car and one at my workbench. I even prefer the Icon set in some ways, particularly that the pieces are all interior to the case. In my use, I find the quality is closely matched and both sets are similarly capable for most situations.

I recently got the Toolcheck and agree that the bit handle is not intended for heavy use; almost for emergency use. But, I have XL hands so YMMV on that one. I too have a 3rd party bit holder (VIM) that turns into a t-handle to give lots more torque.

Otherwise, they packed a lot of quality tools into this kit and hope to also get decades of use out of it.

Very cool. The Vim, Icon, and a couple others are coming from the same OEM factory in Taiwan as the original Facom/ USAG versions. I have the VIM and USAG as well because I got fixated for a couple days, and wanted to compare them in-hand for myself. The finish and function is identical, with very minor aesthetic variations. The VIM handle is a little longer, which I like, but the case and bit selection with the ICON is such a tidy package. Buying one of each wasn't so slick for my part, but they made for cool gifts.

I probably wouldn't buy another ToolCheck, because I always have other socket options, but I keep a BitCheck-30 in every work bag.

Not a deal at all. It's been $66 on Amazon for a few months now. (Metric set) Price went up on Amazon a few days prior to this "sale" on woot starting. Just because woot says it's a sale doesn't mean it belongs on Slickdeals. -someone who has been monitoring this tools price for the past month.
