This thing saved my 4090 PC and 34" OLED gaming monitor ($5k total) from power surges at my house a few weeks ago when a tree fell and pulled the negative wire from my house. The surge protector got smoked but it did its job and saved my hardware. Bought another one to replace it, I recommend.

I think there's misunderstanding about surge protectors and clamping voltage. I don't want this to turn into a very technical discussion, but the UL 1449 spec has 5 editions. The most important one is the 3rd version. The 3rd version currently has much more stringent testing standards, especially on clamping voltage. The same surge hardware under the older spec (1st and 2nd 1449) may be 330v while under the newer spec it may be 400-500v. I have an older version of this exact same model from the mid 00s. It says 330v on the bottom. I don't believe this has worse internals than mine even if it now says 500v

Have one of these. Good plug configuration if you plan to plug a lot of devices in as it gives ample room for large adapters. Plug itself is very low profile. Otherwise no issues.

Would this be a good one to hide behind a TV that's mounted to the wall to plug everything (e.d., Apple TV, soundbar, LED lighting, etc)? It looks flat enough with some cable management included on one end.

Does this grip plugs well enough to mount on the underside of a desk?

Good warranty. Used the warranty to replace one and it was really easy. Bought that one thru Amazon though. I don't see the warranty anywhere in the listing. I had a two year warranty.

The maximum amount of voltage that a surge protector will allow through itself before it will suppress the power surge. When the device reaches its clamping voltage, it blocks any further current from flowing through the device and into a computer system or other electronic device.

I have a 10' version. I think the 8' is too small for a standing desk if you want the wire to run up the leg

It is perfect for that. I have my mounted tv, xbox, fire tv, soundbar, hue hub, smarthings hub, Hue Play LED bar, modem, and router plugged into mine for 6+ months. No issues ever.

No. A clamping voltage of 300 is good.

I just bought this exact one from Amazon for $21 a couple weeks ago, and it says the clamping voltage is 500V.
