Had this since shortly after it was released, and I'm not crazy about it.

Had to do a full factory reset several times because it stopped outputting any sound at all.

But even more annoying is that the on screen display is completely gone. So after a reset, I have to try to navigate all the menus using the front panel. It's terrible. And it makes using the room correction pretty much impossible.

I'm debating if it's worth the hassle to box it up and try to return it to Costco.

I wish I would have went with the denon s760h.

Funny, I returned the S760H and kept the TX-NR6050 Both do the job just fine but, after swapping them in and out of one of my systems a million times, I preferred the movie soundtrack quality of the Onkyo.

"Bi-Directional Bluetooth Wireless Technology
This Onkyo AVR can send and receive audio via Bluetooth wireless technology. The improved data transfer capabilities of the latest generation of Bluetooth ensure clear and reliable sound reproduction so you hear your favorite songs just as the recording engineer intended."

Yeah, the Onkyo sounds great, but it's been so frustrating.

Like right now, I can't even run room correction because I have no OSD, so it sounds "off".

I know Costco is really lenient about returns, but it's been well over a year...... I am really frustrated that this thing that I spent a fair amount of money on is already "broken" and missing basic functionality.

I absolutely love mine! I had the Denon and the Onkyo sounds so much better and allows you to hook up two additional speakers over the Denon. My only problem with the Onkyo is when you adjust the volume up or down by a lot, it causes a blue screen for about 20 seconds.

Anyone know if this model supports standby audio passthrough to the TV for an input (or all of them) if you have it standby mode? I tend to like to watch our streaming through the TV speakers and only movies/sports in 5.1 etc. This never worked right on my older Onkyo NR609 and was a supposed bug.

I'm guessing you already tried a factory reset and update so maybe try returning it to Costco. Nothing to lose at this point.

Guys I have 4 Harmon Kardon standing satellite speakers, one center speaker, and a giant, heavy, powered subwoofer. How do I know if this will work with them?

Receivers will work with speakers. Exceptions are a rarity amongst common speakers.

I snagged the TX-NR6050 for this price on BF and have been very happy with it so far. Upgraded from a TX-NR646 mainly for the newer HDMI support, and it's been great. About my only complaint is the Bluetooth stack doesn't seem to play well with Linux (both my laptop and Steam Deck can connect to it, but no sound out over BT). However that's a very niche gripe. Everything else I care about works, and the Alexa integration is better than I expected.

The short answer is that it would almost certainly be fine. The full answer is you need to go look up each speakers specs, determine your desired loudness and distance from speakers, and do some math (since the sub is powered, you're good there already). Unless these speakers are ridiculously power hungry or you need them to be extremely loud, you're likely fine.

Yup. A few times.

Whenever I do anything that brings up the OSD, it stops putting out any video signal at all. Audio still works though.

Tried doing a full reset and then connected it to several different TV's and monitors with different resolutions, tried several brand new HDMI 2.1 cables, and still nothing.

Seen quite a few complaints about it online and there doesn't seem to be any solution.

Has Onkyo resolved the problem withe the HDMI chips propensity to unsolder themselves? I've got an NR609 that I need to open up and blast with a heat gun every time the chip unsolders itself and all the speakers stop being recognized... PITA.

Got one from Costco at 200. Had 0 issues. Btw, room correction is overrated, found no difference before or after correction
