I missed on the deal from Samsung when they were $2 less ($67.49?). Many of the other recent deals on these were from random sellers on Amazon, so I didn't trust them. Amazon itself has this 4-pack on sale for $69.99 ('normal' price is $99.99). I know there's debates whether these work well vs AirTags vs Tiles, but as a Samsung household, I'll give these a chance.

If you're asking about these two, I'm assuming you don't have Apple. If you have Samsung, then go with SmartTag2 (according to that article pro/con list, Smarttag2 only works with Samsung?) - if you don't then Tile Pro. While I can't find the specific Tile deal you're referring to, seems like this Samsung deal is better (4 for $70) than the 4 pack of Tile Pros from Tile (4 for $80) https://www.tile.com/product/black-pro-4-pack.
I've seen a lot of other SD users complain about Tile in these threads. I've never had one myself.
I've complained about tiles in SD. It depends completely on other people keeping the Tile app on, which not many android users do because they're given the option not to. So tracking really doesn't happen unless you have the Tile App open.
This is my first foray into these tracking tags so it will be a learning experience.
And among the list of compatible Samsung Galaxy phones that can help locate either a SmartTag or SmartTag2, it's my understanding that these phones need to have the SmartThings app installed, a user needs to be logged into their Samsung account in this app, and they need to enable the Find setting in the SmartThings app (https://support.smartth
They're making it harder to find now. Scroll down to New and Used (9) from $69.29 and click through. For me, the sold by and shipped by as Amazon was the 4th down on the list. Remember to buy the one that is sold and shipped by Amazon!

That being said, I see a lot of reddit threads where others also mention short battery life on the SmartTag2.
Guess what? Just lost my farking car keys 🤦 ♂️🤬

Random impressions:
- They have a nice feel to them. Almost fidget toy worthy as you spin them on your finger.
- Surprised that it uses SmartThings as its native app. I was expecting it to be paired with the Wear app or have its own SmartTag app. But whatever - no big deal.
- To activate tags, there were a couple more steps to set up than I expected (not at all difficult). This is in comparison to my Samsung headphones and Watch6, which, if I remember right, I just powered them up, my phone recognized them and boom, they worked. But maybe I'm not remembering accurately.
- But, once it was set up, I like how it just works with our Samsung devices.
- I do like the 'Location History' feature.
- I do like the feature set on these and how they can be customized. I'm sure the Apple AirTags are smoother and easier to use, but I'm not a fan of iOs. If AirTags are anything like their mobile devices, I'm guessing they don't have as many customizations as SmartTag2s.
If I had to rate my 'Net Promoter Score' (NPS) with the SmartTag2s, they are like a 5 out of 10 which is a fine score for a tracking tag -- means I'll set them and hopefully forget about them until I need them - if I have battery issues like the_derek and am constantly changing out 2032s, then the score will drop. For comparison, my Galaxy Buds2 Pro earbuds started out a 7/10 and have since grown to a 9/10 and never leave my side even though I also have a pair of the Sony WF1000 XM5 earbuds that oddly just sit there next to my charging station looking beautifully sad at me while they collect dust. Overall, I like the SmartTag2 for what it is. I'll use them until (and if?) the fabled Google one ever comes out.
I'm surprised they are still available for the $69.99 price. Usually Amazon sells through these type of deals fairly quickly.
Can't recommend these at any price
I have the 2nd gen and haven't had any problems
