For those wondering about the brand, sure, there are better more expensive alternatives, but for those on a low budget (like I was) they worked just fine and did happily use them pair after pair.
If you need toe protection and are mandated to steel by ASTM numbers ...get a composite toe

Light brown looks almost too nice to mess up.
Wait for a sale or clearance of better quality boots/shoes.
