I ended up buying both the Apple and Kindle versions of the book. Others have done more thorough reviews so I'll just point out some issues: since these are mostly scans of the physical book, searching for words does work but is super slow. The resolution is not great and zooming is also not fun. Many pages are meant to be read vertically across two pages which means you'll have to set the rotation lock.

Then there is the baffling Apple Books restriction on only authorizing 5 devices for the Books app and you can only deauthorize on the device itself. You can choose the Deauthorize All option if you can find it, but only ONCE PER YEAR ???. It's like Apple doesn't want you to use the Books app.

Amazon no longer loves me enough to give me no-rush credits. The Map book looks pretty cool, though; so it got me to fork over $2 in hard-earned cash.

Yeah, what's up with that? I've used no-rush a few times this year... went to check my balance: $0.

I use an Amazon card all the time and instead of a no-rush credit for digital goods I get an extra percentage off the purchase (so, instead of 5 percent off. I get 6 percent off).

Same. Amazon just lies and never issues you the credits. Waiting for the class action lawsuit.

Amazon has sharply curtailed its no-rush credits in the last six months or so, sadly.

I mean buying the apple product instead of the Kindle helps support your hardware provider. That's about the only thing we can say for certain with the limited facts presented.

Idk, it's a $2 book. Probably not worth worrying about at this point.....
