Amazon doesn't price match, so I bought it with a credit card that has price protection, going to see if I can get $30 back. Sadly, a lot of cards eliminated the program years ago saying people just weren't using it, which says a lot about people. However, why get rid of something if it isn't costing the banks anything? Reasoning smells fishy.

Way too many people were using it, heck, if you were around on slickdeals a few years ago it was rampant with people saying they used it. There's n oway they ever get rid of something that people "Werent using". It was costing them a lot of $ so that's why they got rid of it.

Now that you mention it, I think it might be a case of the few (SDers) using it heavily and the masses not even knowing about it or bothering to use it. So, if a program was being used by a small group of savvy people milking it for every penny, they were going to end it.

Is this a good monitor for work? Or should I wait for an IPS?

I've got it set up to tell me when it's back in stock, and I've had 3 notifications and it's not showed back in stock all 3 times. I checked immediately upon receiving the notifications too

Is this an upgrade over my 31.5" Gigabyte M32UC? Gigabyte is showing a higher price although I got a deal on an open box, but spec wise other than the LG being a little larger, and no speakers (I don't care).

https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-M...B09WPTKDQY

I purely care about the image quality, and which may be better.

Thanks!!

I have this monitor and I recommend it if you're looking for an ultrawide at this price point. It was cheap enough that I could expense it at work. It works fine but grays can appear weird and your mouse cursor will turn yellow when going over any gray color on screen.
I also had some mild artifacts appearing while gaming. There are reviews on youtube that cover these issues.

I ultimately switched to a 43" 16:9 4K monitor because I couldn't stand the lack of vertical space and use this as a secondary monitor.

If you buy this, make sure to turn off power saving mode under General (lowers brightness randomly), and turn off DFC under Picture Adjust (again, lowers brightness randomly).

Those 2 options should never have been included in the first place as they make the monitor dim and useless.

Other than that I like the monitor. I typically watch movies that are already 21:9 and the extra horizontal space is nice for work from home. I bought at $200 last year.

If you watch a lot of 16:9 content (most tv shows, YouTube, etc), I'd buy a 16:9 monitor over this. A lot of games don't truly support ultrawide as well and sometimes the FOV looks a little distorted on the sides.

Also I don't have the issues like the post above me about the cursor changing colors or the artifacts, that one seems like it needs to be RMA'd.

This thing is great so far, picked it up on the way home from work and just set it up. I've been editing a lot of vacation videos and the extra workspace in CapCut is nice to have.
