I have this in dark burst. Great guitar with Gibson Burstbucker humbucking pickups, CTS potentiometers, and Mallory capacitors.

Only negative are the tuners, which work fine, but feel cheap.

I grabbed an open box one for $539.28. Hoping it's worth the risk.

Score!
The pickups are $300 and the case is $100...I'd say it's a good risk to take!

These have Gibson USA pickups, upgraded wiring and a hardcase.
If you don't mind a Satin finish and epiphone on the headstock these are reportedly solid guitars.
That's a plus in my book! woot

Just grabbed another open box (level 3) for $431.42. It's getting crazy.

Contemplating this but thinking I already have a $3400 Gibson Les Paul Standard plus top, why spend more? I don't even play the other 14 guitars I have. Meh.

if they have an open box for a model, there's a link to the open box page before you get to the recommendations. https://www.musiciansfriend.com/g...ric-guitar

Yeah, I'm thinking with my $50k Greeny Collectors edition, my $80k 50's Goldtop, and 20 other LP varieties...do I need another LP this time by Epi? I hardly play the GIBSON's I currently have....bigtime meh. Maybe I'll go take my Singer 911 for a spin to clear my mind.

OP this Epi's a seriously sweet deal. The Gibson electronics is a plus for sure. Nice rig.

Paying $3,400 for an LP Standard... I'm not sure if that's a weird flex or a cry for help.

Solid deal. My only nit to pick on an Epi LP is the poly finish vs nitro, but at their price points its like complaining about a lack of leather seats in an entry level car. Getting the USA pickups and the quality Caps and Pots at this price makes it a great buy, imo.

Nitro is the worst. I have a 2023 SG 61 and dented the finish just installing a new bridge. For me the real issue with these is the Indian Laurel. I cant stand how that feels.
