FYI: The documentation says you can only add 8 (or maybe it was 10) leak detectors per gateway. If desired, you can add more. Just add additional sensors like you add the first 8. One of my gateways (old style like in this hot deal) currently has 19 sensors on it.

FYI 2: If you want to add one to an area that is conductive metal that would trip the leak sensor, say an AC drip pan, just put a small piece of paper towel between the detector and metal surface. Some folks do this even for non-conductive surfaces - the theory being that any moisture contact with the paper towel will wick water in triggering the sensor. (Multiple probes on the bottom of the sensor need to be wet to detect a leak.)

You can get it to send text warnings instead of email by getting your phone number email address. For instance, with Verizon (and Xfinity) it is your number [email protected]. I get so much junk mail that it is easy to miss the alert email. Not so with text.

Great price but keep in mind that this is the older version. Works the same as the newer one but a shorter battery life and sensor capacity per gateway.

These things are great. This is the older version as someone mentioned but it can accommodate up to 10 sensors. Connection to wifi is a bit fiddly but works fine when you get it connected. It needs a 2.4 GHz wifi connection.

This seems a decent price. The 3-pack with gateway is also on sale for $30 ($44 - 32% coupon), which is about what I paid a year ago.

I've had this for almost 3 years, love them and worth every penny+ more. I've put one under every water fixture in the house (around 8 of them).

Just buy it. It saved my house in Texas when the water heater leaked.

Does anyone know if you can link other Govee devices to this "Gateway"? For example the H5075 Hygrometer? Would it be able to pickup the bluetooth beacon and make it available from anywhere via the app?

When the sensor contacts on the top or the bottom get wet due to water leak, it sends a signal to the gateway and that alerts you via app notifications. The sensor also emits a loud sound.

I've had these going since last July. No batteries have run out so far.

I have eight sensors. After I set them up, I went through and tested them with a few water drops. When they went off, I went to the app and gave all the sensors a unique name, like "water heater."

Any chance they work with SmartThings?
