Yep, unfortunately. I have an amazon chair that looks pretty much exactly the same as this. The pad on the seat is completely flattened after a year. I need to buy a new chair or spend time sourcing a new pad and reupholstering.

Acc to Amazon reviews overall decent chair but the seat cushion wears out pretty quick and is not as thick to begin with.

Have had a bonded leather staples chair since the pandemic first started. is has not begun flaking at all. I use it every business day working from home.

It's not very durable and after a year or so it started flaking, leading to whole sections that came up in a stretchy strip if you pull on it. Eventually I just peeled and picked it off from the entire chair to prevent pieces from randomly coming off and getting in my clothes.

Vinyl, plastic, leather, doesn't really matter what it is.

You're supposed to condition it.

303 aerospace protectant can extend the life substantially.

I'd recommend this one as there's no headrest but better reviews and about the same price

You can buy a little metal clamp on amazon for $10 that will lock the hydraulic in place. Has kept my chair kicking for an extra year already.

I own this item, this is a cheaply made Chinese piece, it fell apart after few months...stay away .......My friend received this item for free in return for a amazon review...so guess the genuineness of the reviews...

I bought this same chair at $56 a month ago. Original price looks inflated. Chair is decent at this price. All the parts are functioning well till now.
