Is this the new new one? I was under the impression that new one incoming was in a different color scheme

Similarly, I love most of my Ryobi stuff but this vacuum just isn't that good unless you're only cleaning carpet. It has a powered roller and that does do a decent job on carpet.
Unfortunately, it just doesn't have enough power on bare floors or for tasks that demand more suction. I ended up getting an older refurb Dyson with the fluffy roller for our bare floors, and use a Ryobi battery attachment. A little weird looking, but works great!

I got the refurbished Shark Cordless Pro Vacuum for $99 from amazon Good deal for it and I don't feel like overpaying for a refurb Dyson for $300ish.

This is 2023. There are 2024 ones that aren't out yet https://www.reddit.com/r/ryobi/co...uums_2024/

What's the best Ryobi-Dyson adapter that you recommend? Something like this? https://www.amazon.com/TPDL-Batte...B0BRM4F96T
I can't say what the "best" one is. Mine was a random "MAKBOS" brand off Amazon and it has worked fine for at least a year. They aren't very complicated, so I wasn't too worried about it honestly.
I did have to get a little creative with securing it since the one mounting screw didn't offer the best stability. But everyone has tape =D

Yours looks okay, I paid attention to the reviews (as usual).

Well, I bought used off eBay for $120 with all the attachments. But since I don't imagine most people are down to purchase a used vacuum of all things, I figured I'd volunteer the refurb Dyson V8 instead.
It's $199 direct from Dyson itself right now, no reason to pay $300. Not too shabby IMO since it's just their normal deal, not even an SD price.

For those of us already in the system, the tool only for $185 would be reasonable imo when in stock.

I searched the reviews with the keyword 'dyson' and the majority of the 60 results actually preferred the Ryobi vac over the Dyson. There are also reviews on YouTube comparing if you want to see an in-depth comparison.

I have this Ryobi after watching the YouTube vids and the suction is amazing, they must have done something similar to Dyson and with the dual brush roller it is very effective.

From what I saw online, the warranty on the Ryobi vac, plus not having to use an aftermarket adapter I took the chance knowing I could return it immediately if it didn't meet my needs and now it's my wife and I's favorite vacuum.

There are features you can get on the various Dysons that may be better than this, but some we are happy with on the Ryobi are that it stands upright on its own, the button to turn on and stay on, and that it starts up on high automatically.
I watched reviews as well. Specifically Project Farm because he buys all his own stuff and reviews in a scientific manner with reproducible tests. The Ryobi did..... okay. Mostly because of the powered roller. But the Dyson and (I think) Samsung did much better. Of course both are much more expensive than the Ryobi so no shame there. Since I refuse to spend over $300 on a stick vac, I went with an older Dyson model and it's still better than my Ryobi. But hey, if other stuff works for other people, that's great. The Dyson stick vac with a fluffy roller and Ryobi adapter is perfect for our needs. No complaints here and our bare floors are nice and clean.

It's not just that though. The Dyson is much better for crevices and in places like the car where even though it's carpet, the Ryobi powered brushes can't get to much. The Ryobi just does not have the suction of the Dyson and that was my primary complaint. The Dyson, although it's an older model, is a big step up in that department. I imagine the 8 (and newer models) are even better.

Just to add, "factory Blemished" from DTO is essentially new, you're not getting refurb anything there.

Sounds good for a refurb dyson. Just buying a second battery if one needs would be perfect for most people.

Yeah, you hit on the problem with Dyson. That WOULD be good to buy another Dyson battery but, at least in my vac, Dyson doesn't let you simply swap batteries. Hence the adapter and Ryobi battery swapping!
Dyson you evil geniuses...

To be fair (cue Letterkenny), the Max setting draws quite a bit of power out of the battery and you have to be careful to give the Dyson a 4ah (or more) semi-recent Ryobi battery if you want the vac to be able to draw enough Amperage in Max mode. Otherwise the vac powers off quickly as the battery can't sustain the current draw. Still, it's not hard to pair a decent battery with it.

FWIW, Sharks are great! I just need an excuse to use some of these Ryobi batteries, haha.

Just as an FYI, Hoover in the US is owned TTI, the same maker as Ryobi. So that's why a lot of the Ryobi vacuums aren't that good, Hoover doesn't make great vacuums either. I looked into all of the Ryobi cordless hand vacuums like this one as well as the Hoovers, they all don't perform too well in the real world tests I've seen, especially for the price. Hopefully I can buy a house one day to buy some Slickdeals Ryobi deals. Currently I have Rigid for the Drill & Impact combo from like 6 years ago.

Home Depot's website says this is 16% off. It seems like most Ryobi cordless tools go on sale like 40% or more at some point. I would wait for a bigger discount. That's when I've purchased my Ryobi tools.

They announced a few more wireless stick vacs which means these should keep going down in price. There is one actually that has the canister at the bottom so it isn't too heavy and has two brush rollers, one soft with silicone fins, and a regular roller. Excited for that to get into direct tools outlet website

I ordered it to try at this price before and definitely wouldn't pay $125 for this
