This is an expansion, so it won't work without the base game. But the game is a cooperative deck building game, similar to something like Dominion or Star Realms, except all the players are working together instead of competing.

It appears to also be on sale, $35 is not the lowest it's been but it's a fair price. I wouldn't pay more.

If you end up liking the game I would suggest card sleeves. The sheer amount of shuffling really fades them. There are official sleeves but any will work.

My wife and I played this religiously when covid hit. It's a ton of fun. As the other comments say, this is the first expansion, so you will need the base game to get started.
