Should we trust these to not practically blind us?

As much as I'd like to see the solar eclipse, i'm more worried about permanent eye damage from all these cheapo glasses out there. Risk vs Reward is not there for me.

if not ISO certified stay away. even if it has the label, the seller/maker could still be faking the ISO certification. make sure to buy from reputable place, obviously walmart is not reputable since they allow non certified to sell.

Facepalm
If you're purchasing them in-store at Walmart (which is what this deal refers to), I'd confidently say they've done their due diligence to ensure safety. If you look at the photo of the inside of the glasses, they clearly show the ISO Certification.
Likely, one of the main reasons they're exclusively selling them in-store is to avoid confusion and prevent customers from inadvertently purchasing counterfeit products from third-party online sources.

I'm pleased to see people exercising caution when it comes to purchasing potential counterfeit solar eclipse glasses. There are countless unsafe options online that could seriously harm someone's eyes.
However, in this instance, as long as you're not buying them from a third-party seller, everything should be in order. Walmart is the biggest company in the world, they know retail, they know products, they wouldn't risk a lawsuit selling an unsafe solar eclipse viewer in their store.

I am going to use these. I will only use my left eye....... If it burns and I go blind, Walmart will get a stern telling off from me.
And I will still have my better right eye for daily use...... Hope I don't end up walking in circles.

I bought 10 of these for the last solar eclipse in October for 10¢ each and they were good! Good luck if you can find them!

There are several places that are giving eclipse glasses away for free.
Public libraries are giving them away.
Also Warby Parker [usatoday.com]
google it.

Did you really just say Walmart did their due diligence to ensure safety??? You think Walmart did anything other than put an 8$ pair of paper glasses on the shelf???
🤣🤣🤣

I ordered from NASA directly. But they look sold out this morning. 😢

https://www.shopnasa.com/products...se-glasses

I know it is a tough call, but when I want to observe solar phenomena I just trust NASA more than Walmart.

NASA>>>>Walmart 🤣

Good luck with your eyes fellow slickdealers. I just know in my heart the $3 you will be saving will be well worth it.
