This tells me my version of this laptop with the 6900hs, 32gb, and the animematrix lid is worth absolute shit now. I think it retailed for $2500 and I paid $2000. LOL

This is true. I can play modern games at 4K 120hz with FSR and medium settings still. It has aged well. I looked the actual GPU die recently and it is just a desktop 6600xt.

Sadly, this is how almost all electronics are now. If you use it every day since 2022 then I think you have gotten your $2k worth of entertainment, productivity, etc

Ended up settling for the acer predator Triton 14 for 1199(50% more money) for a much better screen, around 35-40% more GPU(6800s vs 4070) performance and better cpu performance for roughly the same form factor(aside from the huge power supply on the acer).

I won't be able to get my hands in it until August as I'm out of the country, but I had the 3060/12700h version and it was honestly really good(paid 1k), but I sold it just because. The fans can be a little loud and the power brick a little cumbersome, but performance is great, beautiful screen already on the 3060(qhd 165 IPS), the Triton is probably amazing as it is a qhd 250 and mini led, so I'm pretty excited to test it out. Too bad there's barely any review online.

It's the decorative mini led panel that covers about half the lid.
Uses a bit more battery and dust can enter the small holes from which the light comes out but you can put fun little animations on it.
