These do the job, and the cap version is nice.
Keep in mind, on long, hot rides they don't keep liquids cold. They will keep them cool-ish, vs. warm/hot in a non-insulated bottle.

Are these tough to clean? It looks like mold could grow easily but I'm not sure. Thanks

Some of the other regular Podium bottles have a removable piece. Not sure about this.

I have this and the Polar Breakaway Muck bottles. Polar's water spout can be disassembled easily to be cleaned. This one, not so much, but you can soak the spout end in diluted bleach solution, some diluted vinegar solution, or just rinse multiple times with hot dish soap water. Mold isn't an issue if you just clean and rinse. Or pay $10+ for the convenience of a Polar. Insulation properties are negligible—but for best results, fill, freeze, and let it thaw during your ride for coldest drink possible. The mud/dirt cap is an absolute must IMO.

I wouldn't say easy, but perfectly doable. I disassemble mine regularly for cleaning

Makes a good backup to a camelback on a hot day when the 1.5-2L isn't quite enough

Pretty decent deal for this.

I wish it was "$1" as some profess, but you won't be able to find the silicone nipple cap for this, furthermore the rest of the bottle. I personally won't ride off-road with frame mounted bottles that don't have a mouthpiece/nipple cap.

YMMV if you like the...mineral intake.

I have 3x of those and used a ton.

Oldest is over 5yo and holds fine with top-rack dish-washing.

Polar bottle brand is bit better insulated, but did not have a "dirt" cover version for the longest time, but I have ridden a lot with Camelbak top caps threaded on Polar bottles: threads and seals fine.

I prefer the flow of the nipple without the gray baffle piece that comes with it.

21oz is not a lot for hot climates / larger individuals, and I like to ride with at least one of those per hour of riding. I like having all my water on the bike, but if not, a waistpack with extra bottle holders is usefull.

Most FS MTBs will only fit one bottle, often not even 21oz, so do take some measurements / see what ppl with your frame have fitted before you order.

I've got one of these and the inner lining is a pain to clean once you get any mold appearing. Bottle is light and performs fine, but you'll need a bottle cleaning brush and learn to disassemble the top part.

+1 about the mold. I had mold in mine and didn't notice right away. Scrubbed it thoroughly and put it in the dish washer and it still didn't remove all the mold that got into the bottle cap area. I disassembled the bottle cap also. Eventually just threw it away. If you do get one I strongly recommend putting nothing but water in it. I was putting water + some electrolyte powder mix and that definitely made the mold situation much worse. I will probably just buy a hard plastic or stainless steel bottle from now on. The actual insulation wasn't very good anyway.
