Thats what i was comparing it to. The solar charging alone gives it enough edge to me.
It can solar charge 3-4 miles per day on bright sunny day. You will lose more than that because your car needs to stay up to take that charge. Model Y is most efficient as car can sleep when not in use.

true but that has income restrictions to qualify for rebates.
I'm seeing $42k (before $7500 federal tax credit if you qualify) for a long range AWD with all the safety features and an awesome stereo system with 310 miles of range right now in my area. That's for an inventory model that is brand new that is grey with black interior. I have one now and it is an amazing car that is a blast to drive, has great easy to use features. I believe it's one of the safest cars that europe has ever tested (europe safety tests are harder than us safety tests), is one of the least stolen cars in the US, and nobody can cut off the catalytic converter Smilie

I'm curious what happened to all the early adopters that bought at full price over the last few months..now seeing the same car priced at 40% cheaper.
A guy I used to work with got one a few months ago, I don't want to bring it up to him, I feel bad this happened to him actually.

Electric car without future support… especially not a mass production model… a small issue can turn it into no one wants junk
It can become hot commodity though, especially if it starts catching on 🔥

False. They are discounting cars--among other things--to avoid bankruptcy.

99.9% of home rooftop solar systems couldn't fully charge the battery on this thing in a day even if they were fully dedicated to charging the battery and not powering the house loads. Solar panels on the roof of a car will cost more in insurance than savings in electricity. It's not rocket science, its common sense as to why other manufacturers are reluctant to go this route.

The build quality looks really poor considering that's a $75k model.
