I agree covering the other 20% will require more effort--- but given US market share right now is under 10% (it's expected to hit 10% this year) and 80% of the market COULD charge at home, it's not really an issue right now....and there's plenty of time to cover that remaining 20% before it becomes one.

I never said anything you claim I did- and you ignore what I actually wrote.
Roughly 2/3rds of Americans live in detached single family homes or equivalent.
You only need to include the portion of apartment and condo owners with garages and driveways to get that up to about 80%.

EVs generally charge at night- when the grid already has the most spare power available.
And the amount supply needs to grow as a lot more EVs come online is perfectly reasonable based on historical grid growth.

Ah, sorry- I see where you got it... some politician in the UK said it, tabloids there reprinted it-- and 2 years later- despite having been debunked- folks are STILL repeating it.

Scroll down to the "Debunking the "EV Tires Cause More Pollution Than ICE Vehicle Tires" FUD" section for the specific, honestly hilarious math errors that led the original guy in the Uk to claim this was really a thing..... but the tl;dr version is the math the UK guy used would only be correct if EVs ran tires bald every 1300 or so miles. Which, of course, they don't. My OEM Tesla tires lasted about 25k miles (so ~20x less 'pollution' than the UK guys thing would suggest)-- and is about how long my original OEM Lexus ICE tires lasted too... in both cases I replaced them with better tires that are rated to last nearer 50k miiles--- so ~40x less pollution than the UK guys thing suggests... and in both cases no different than the same tires on a gas car. Plus EVs go through brake pads far less so net "particulate" pollution would still be better on an EV than a gas car.
