I've gone to several events and was limited to one or two repairs on their products. You can also drop off at their stores as well. They will ship it back repaired and it's free. They also sell used gear as well, prices might be better than this sale. In a nutshell, they would prefer their gear not going into a landfill, if possible. They are a privately held company and still owned by the original owner, Yvon Chouinard an actual climber and inventor.
I got it Patagnoia quality is really good and much better than most of the brands out there.
I have a few Patagonia jackets and other clothing, but the pricing is still way too expensive.
TBH I think the quality of the garments is comparable. I have been using the same EB insulated trench for 3 years and it looks new still; and I take the train 3 days a week and have to wash fairly often. I had a patagonia down jacket and it lasted for around the same length before getting a snag and needing to be replaced (sh*t happens). I was able to buy a bonded channel jacket with the same fill power from EB for half of what Patagonia wanted & I love my new jacket (microtherm freefuse).
If you're asking for a recommendation; it kinda depends on what you need from a jacket. EB has some colors of the Glacier Peak stuff on clearance right now, but beware ANY physical exertion will make you sweat. They also have the stratustherm on clearance in some decent colors but I never tried one of them on. Additionally they have the Haven jackets that looks nice, but also haven't tried one on so I can't speak to it's quality or fit.
I bought a bunch of eb stuff to try out last year and ended up returning it all because it wasn't comparable. Stitching, texture of materials, etc. I don't care for the pataguc brand and they are expensive but damn they do some things well and half off is more than fair. I can't find better for cheaper. I can find more value through some Columbia clearance, but not better for less.
I used to love eb stuff 20-25 years ago. It's sad how cheap their stuff is now and it's extremely odd to hear someone not be able to notice a diff bt Patagonia and eb.
My kids get the EB stuff from costco and they grow out of it every year. Adults get the Patagonia stuff. If cost is a concern, there are other brands like Columbia, Marmot, etc with prices everywhere in between. Don't get people started on Arcteryx.
I would love to have many of the tees and tops with Patagonia logo on the front and not the back as they have. I think that wasn't necessarily a good choice by Patagonia.
want to get the Synchilla fleece but no free shipping under 99. pass
Their synchilla fleece are super ugly these days. I bought a simple version about 4 years back for my partner. Now I'm regretting I didn't buy one for myself
