These sort of bulbs should be fine outdoors in a semi protected fixture (given the wattage I'd not put it in a fully enclosed fixture except during winter, but there's no real details from the mfg.)

If you haven't already done it shoot Amazon an email with the order number and ask for the contact information for warranty service ( [email protected] )
