I bought one and the novelty of it died so fast for me. Don't get me wrong it was amazing. Everything was so crisp. 3D movies looked great. Immersive videos were pretty amazing and look fantastic. But outside of entertainment, doing any type of work felt like more of a hassle than it needed to be. I found myself not caring to use it after about 4-5 days. Ended up returning it. The most I'd pay for it for my use case is $500. Which is basically occasionally watching movies "on the big screen".
I had pretty much the same experience but for free as i had access to prototype way before it hit market. Nothing so far can even get close to experience that this gizmo is offering, BUT, price and content availability probably will kill it.
I completely agree, they should have something like that and to add, maybe don't have the brains on the unit rather create a wireless protocol that can reliably connect with all their ecosystem and have it cost way less then build on it from there.

First thing I said when they started to push 3d TV's was (You still need to wear those glasses)
Then they released the 3d glasses that needed to be charged. I knew it was over.
have to give apple credit for creating this monstrosity though, clearly it has set some standards.
You might be missing the point... Hint it has something to do with math.
