Best cashback on all categories. Currently using citi double-cash back (2%) and considering using this instead.

The Gold Card requires an annual Robinhood Gold subscription ($50 per year) to apply. Not worth the extra hassle.

make this available for the regular users and I'm in. $50/year gold kills the 3% cash back deal.

Unless you spend less than $5000 a year, it's easy to earn the $50 back.
Besides, you get many benefits with Robinhood Gold, such as 5% cash interest.

not sure of all the hate. I get that many people dont like RH. However, the cashback and benefits are actually really good. Some people are already RH Gold subscription so this is no big deal. Not all the perks are that great once you look at the terms. The two big ones I like are extended warranty and return protection.

I think I'm paying $3 a month ($36 a year)? Pays for itself with the 5% interest on cash parked there. Joined the wait-list.

Edit: I guess it is $5 a month now.

If you spend more then $5000, there's tons of card that'd easy net you $700-$1000 sign up bonus easy for spending that much. That's couple of years worth of cashback compared with his this card's $100+ a year ($5000 x 3% = $150 - $50). There's little scenario this card make any sense.

Just sign up for the Robinhood Gold card once it launches. The $50 annual fee quickly pays for itself.

Generally I don't like annual fees but it's pretty easy to cover this one. You get 5% interest on uninvested cash in your brokerage account. Park $1000 there and that easily covers the annual fee

That's the real drawback here.
  • Trip Interruption Protection
  • Purchase Security
  • Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver
  • Extended Warranty Protection
  • Return Protection
  • Zero Liability Protection
  • Visa Signature Concierge Service
  • Travel and Emergency Assistance
  • Roadside Dispatch

Nearly all of these are standard on practically every Visa, MC, and Amex in existence; the fact that Auto Rental Ins is secondary is kinda terrible, though not all cards have *return* protection on purchases, short of just doing a chargeback if it's a real lemon purchase. Of course, legoit chargebacks are pretty easy in my experience; I haven't read the "terms" for actually invoking the return protection on an item you're returning "just 'cause" to a vendor who won't take it back. Even then its limited to $250. Better than nothing.

Unless you're already paying the $50, you're better off with a card that pays 2%, or having 2 at 3-5% that hit your top 2-4 categories/stores. If you are paying $50 and only getting the card (no gold RH account needs) then you'd have to charge $5k just to *break even*.
