Is the power supply proprietary or usb-c?
Any laptop with thunderbolt 4 can be charged via USB C

This was $799 last year too. With the current competition this should be $599 to be a deal. At this price it's just meh.
True, I bought one last year but with an AMD CPU, and it has a lot of weird issues.

What do people prefer these days, intel or amd CPUs?

DRAM is soldered, but it's 32GB which is VERY good for a laptop in this price range. 12th gen CPU, even though not the latest, still has plenty of processing power for anything you throw at it. Not really a gaming laptop due to the GPU limits, but is should handle older (2yrs or older) games just fine with some setting tweaking. Screen seems to be the BEST feature of this laptop. Size, resolution, ratio and 500nits (!!!) is fantastic for $800. If I wasn't on a camera shopping spree currently, I'd snatch this guy up. 👍
Any idea if this would be ok for 3D modeling(SW) and rendering(KS)?

Isn't everything about this laptop great except the arc 370 processor? How is that compared to nvidia 3050 or 3060? What about compared to intel xe graphics?

How many external monitors can you connect to?

Also, isn't this the same on they sold at costco a while back? It's rare for an i7 and 32gb and 1tb laptop to be around this price right? So if this laptop had an intel xe graphics processor instead, would it be better or worst? If it had an nvidio 3050 or 3060 or better, it would be real good?

I got one laptop from LENOVO before.

But fixing it was a nightmare; take 1 month to fix a broken screen, get it back with the touch screen stopped working, and take another 1 month to fix it.

I definitely try not to buy a lenovo

I'm sure you can connect to a bunch of monitors without issue (not gaming). My work computer has integrated IRIS graphics and I plug it in to 3 externals, two of which are 1440p

Name me a modern laptop with these specs (or equal) which is inexpensive and easy to fix. I'll wait.

Guessing you have Depot support, where they pay for the shipping both ways. Go buy an Acer product and find out that you have to pay for shipping to them. People have a bad experience with one product from one company and write off everything they do. Reality is, nobody shops for warranties when the shop for products, but they should.

I've had Lenovo onsite for all my laptops, and the techs have never let me down. Some of their products don't allow upgrades from depot to onsite, but if you can, the minimal cost is worth the peace of mind.

What competition has 120hz 500 nits display, 14 Cores, and 32 Gigs of RAM for $599?
