I have a calendar alert that repeats on March 1st that has the number of bags I used. If I use more, I'll just update it. It gives me a rough reminder of how many I need.

This is $2 but if I want to avoid the artificial colors and get the garden bark that's $6.76. Ridiculous

We find the bags easier than bulk, though the mulch quality is lower. We order 2 pallets delivered then load them up on my Gorilla cart and drop throughout the planting berms. Then come back with a knife to split the bag open, dump, and then spread. Save the time to shovel into a cart from a big pile.
Bulk double ground by me is $30 a cubic yard and brown color enhanced is $39.

Don't do this. The chips are pretty wet or can have diseases. Wet ones have too much nitrogen and will potentially kill your plants. Moreover, the decomposition will need a lit of carbon and if it's not there, it smell nasty. Plus it'll grow weird fungus after it rains. Ask me how I know?
That nitrogen will only result in the mulch breaking down faster, it won't kill any plants unless you till it in in huge amounts. I've yet to get a batch of chips that stink. And that weird fungus is totally harmless. Even ghe dog puke kind. I get 35 yards of such chips in a load every few years.

I have a Slickdealer neighbor who always asks me to pick up about 60 bags of mulch every year on this deal. Last night I saw him unloading his own small car with an ungodly amount of mulch, so I can only assume that he got the deal from here. I want to make it clear that I did offer to help, but I think he wanted to break some kind of world record for amount of lawn supplies carried in a single trip with a Toyota Prius.
I just wanted to get here and clear my name before he tried to say I was a bad mulch neighbor/friend or something.
I was able to fit 25 bags in my prius. 28 if i stacked some in the front seat as well.

I buy this every year. I'm thinking of switching to rubber mulch which is currently $8/bag at Sams. Does anyone have pro/con comparisons between the two mulches? tia
A. Check if your HOA allows it. B. Wind will pick up rubber mulch and you yard will be full of nondegradable rubber.

Any way to get better price for delivery? App shows $99 for me. I was considering doing the same as you did. After shoveling yards of mulch last year out of my driveway, I decided bags would be easier this year.
Delivery in my area was only $79. Still came out cheaper than bulk mulch + delivery fees from the nearby garden center, but for me it was the convenience of not having a tarp-covered pile of loose mulch to deal with.

It's actually $13.50 per cu yard
It's actually not. 27 Cubic Feet in a cubic yard, 2 cu ft to a bag, meaning you need 13.5 bags at $2 each or $27.50 to buy a yard. Go learn basic math

$79 delivery fee. Still cheaper overall than bulk load from a mulch place and I don't have to shovel mulch or make several trips to get the bags.

I got this deal and the first rain all the color came off. I bought black and now it looks like mulch from last year! 🤬
