Engineers are not perfect. My wife is on her second engine in a Mercedes C300, dealer maintained since new, engine replaced at 77k miles. 10k mile oil change intervals. Cylinder 1 wrist pin fails on the M274 all the time. Seems to be less frequent for those who change oil more regularly. Anecdotal, but, to say engineers know best is not always true.

Extended oil changes like 10k on newer cars with low compression piston rings is not a good idea. I'd stick to 5k mile oil changes.

Seems to be a common theme with forced induction engines. NA engines are fine with 10k intervals while FI are better off with 5k. Spark plugs are another item that need to be replaced more frequently on FI engines.

Same for me... when I went to check out it has $6 for shipping since under $35 so I added a second 5qt x 3.... says arriving Sat so we shall see. 6 x 5qt bottles (30 qts) for $54 would be slick. edit: it shipped!

10 gallons for flush/change, and then the 3rd one as she sips a quart every 1k afterwards.

Appeal to authority argument is a terrible argument, especially when you consider all of the things that have gone wrong over time with engineered products. Especially when you throw in the Marketing team as well as lawyers.
