The RX 6800 XT is certainly a quite better performer, but the cheapest I can find is $450. That puts it into a whole different category IMO. If you are shopping for a sub-$350 today, this is pretty hard to beat.

I've been using this since the holidays, paired with a 7800X3D and an 34" 21:9 Curved UltraWide™ QHD (3440 x 1440). I can run CS2, Destiny 2, and Helldivers 2 on Ultra and still get 60+ FPS so I've been happy

While this is a good deal, I suggest the extra $ for the 6800xt if you're getting a new card anyway. Huge difference in the 2.

Anyone with 6/7 series know what resolutions are available for VSR at 1440p? Is it still limited to a few resolutions or is it possible to add custom ones like 2880x1620?

Agreed, but I think most of the 6800XTs from the more favorable AiBs are sold out... Although the 7800XT fills that void, its MSRP is $499 unless it goes on sale.

They are quite literally the same performance but the 6800 has 16gb of VRAM as opposed to the 12 in the 7700XT

If you can wait till 4Q 2024...the 8700XT will be out at $399 and performance is 15% faster than the 7800XT w/16 gigs.
