Man I've been on the fence on this thing for weeks.
I have an LG B2 with 2x 2.1 ports. 1 will be arc to the sound bar, and the other for my HTPC. I don't have any other uhd devices.
Would there be any issues with this setup? I read comments online that the 990D is superior for this use case, but I don't really understand why I would need the extra 2.1 ports. I have a 4090 and game at 4k

Same here, i just have my ps5 plugged in one 2.1 port and the other 2.1 port with my soundbar. If you plan to have the xbox series x plugged in then it will be a problem. In terms of plugging in a pc, DO NOT USE THE PASSTHROUGH for that, just plug it straight into the tv since the pass through sucks for it. Personally i dont like pass throughs, i like just plugging in straight to the source, i care more about my picture quality then sound when playing on my gaming consoles. the 990D is a refresh, like every other iphone is these days. Save ur money and get the 990C. Also the 990c is better for movie audio vs the 990d is better a music.

Nice thanks for your advice! What do you mean by don't use passthrough? Is that using the HDMI ports on the soundbar?

So the way the 2.1 hdmi works in the soundbar is that you plug ur console into the soundbar and then use the 2nd hdmi port on the sound bar and plug that into the tv, so the soundbar acts as a pass though, u can also buy a passthrough device on its own, and dont get me wrong passthrough works great but personally, maybe a mental thing, id rather have my hdmi plugged straight into the tv instead of having it run through another device and then go to the tv

I don't understand what benefit you're getting from plugging any of your devices directly into the soundbar. If your tv has hdmi 2.1 ports, then you'd want just the ARC hdmi on the soundbar plugged into the ARC port on the tv and then plug all devices directly into the tv. That's what I do, and I get 4k 120hz hdr with dolby atmos on my xbox, ps5 and PC. Maybe I'm lucky that the older LG C9 has 2.1 on all 5 ports..
