I think it is. I had a Mini 2, the camera in the 3 is much better.
The camera hardware in 3/3pro/4pro is all the same.

I have a $20 or so charger from Ebay or Amazon, charges 3 batteries. The flat type charger, the batteries stand in them, works for 3/3pro/4pro batteries. Performance is the same as an original DJI charger. I had one with a 3 pro bundle.
Batteries, I have one extra, was open box (new) $50.
When I had the 3pro with 3 batteries, I found out 2 batteries is my real need. My third battery was collecting dust.
I currently use this Mini 3 bundle.

Anyone know if the remote on the mini 3 is interchangeable with the mini 2 and vice versa? Thinking of getting one of these as a backup for travel. In case the first one gets lost.

Sorry that was a ball park, I over-estimated including ground time in my head. I was going by jobs I've done on a side hustle with this drone. I have about 80 in the air.

If ActiveTrack is something you'll use (where the drone follows you), you really need a mini 4, but this is a good deal for normal drone footage!

It is software or something they unlocked to justify the higher price point.
The 4 pro has a bit better night capability as well.

Mini 4 pro has so many quality of life improvements over the mini 3, I highly recommend splurging if you have any extensive use in mind

Return home is exactly what the drone should do if it loses connection. Just be sure your return home altitude will be sufficient to get over any obstacles.

Did you mean even when the drone lost connection with its remote control? Somehow that did not work when I had my incident last year with my mini 2. At the time, I kept on moving around to be able to receive signal intermittently. The drone was completely out of sight but I got it close enough before I could use the return home button. I just upgraded mine to the 4 pro and am still testing the obstacle avoidance function. I want to see how it works with my own eyes before let it go on its own laugh out loud

I don't think rth always works. I've lost connection several times in urban environments.
Mostly due to building obstructions and so many interference sources.
If I am flying in open land areas, hypothetically out of line of sight, I pay close attention to signal strength.
I highly recommend the UAV Forecast app, check it before you take off.
