JJoye almost certainly doesn't actually live in an area where bananas cost $10 each.

Is it practical to go there specifically for this? of course not unless one buys in bulk. But I atleast, if I have some time in the store usually slickdeal the store name to see if there are any deals going on. This would certainly be a slickdeal.
The only cheap banana is one that you grew on your own tree
Maybe try other banana varieties instead. Apple bananas, lady finger bananas, and red bananas are relatively easy to find in large metropolitan areas.
