Historically Samsung and other devices supported Qualcomm's QuickCharge (up to version 3) through USB-A ports to compatible devices and provided up to 18W charging.

However, Power Delivery has largely taken over. Devices like the Google Pixel no longer support Qualcomm QuickCharge. Additionally, properly designed USB-A to USB-C cables will signal Power Delivery devices to limit charging current to 1.5A. This can limit such charging devices to 7.5W charging(!) if connected using a cable like the one in this deal to a standard USB-A.

This kind of cable can actually make sense as part of an intentional slow charging setup (say, for 5W or 2.5W overnight charging in concert with a low-wattage USB power adapter).

Good luck!
Jon
At least they are honest and upfront that it's only usb2 cable. Wish all mft were like that. 😮 💨

Woot title
"AmazonBasics USB-C to USB-A 2.0 Fast Charger Cable, 480Mbps Speed, USB-IF Certified"
Weird to remove the slow speed info 🤔

Edit: OP fixed

You people need to put WOOT in the title, so everyone who doesn't have Prime can ignore these posts.

Honestly, woot! policies (such as on returns) have changed enough that even Prime members have reasons to stay away from woot! Personally, I've largely avoided woot! ever since Amazon turned it into a way for Amazon 3rd party sellers to hide.

This would work with the iPhone 15 but, as noted earlier, with the iPhone 15 using Power Delivery, these would limit any USB-C iPhone charging to 7W. More than enough for slower charging (especially for overnight) but well below the 12W which would have been possible with USB-A and lightning (and far below the 18W or more possible with USB-C to lighting or USB-C to USB-C).

Good luck!
