I ended up biting and picking up more than one to make the finance charge worthwhile. I figured I already gave up my info to sign up for zip, may as well use it. Paid off all the finance payments. I've had good experiences with goharddrives, hopeful for another positive experience.

It still has all the Porsche internals. It's just that it has been driven hard for 50k miles or more so the drive train is more than half way through their typical life.

For most hard drives that are well taken care of, they either fail in the beginning (due to manufacturing or shipping error) or they fail in the end (when their lifespan runs its course). They never usually fail in the middle. So in theory, if you test that drive enough in the beginning, you'll at least be able to trigger all its faults to go for that warranty.

No risk if your data is backed up properly. If not I get it, it's expensive to have two NASs, and When I only had one, I would only buy new drives.

But now I have two and my data is double backed up. Additionally my backup NAS is a raid 1. So the risk of both failing at the same time is super duper small. This allows me to spend much less on drives and more on NAS equipment.
