Does anyone know if these are better than those server drive refurbs that already has 30k+ hours on them?
These are no different than the server drive refurbs that already have 30k+ hours on them as these were just recertified by the manufacturer and had the hours zeroed out.

I probably should've been more concise with my wording. I didn't see how I could pay it all off at once and avoid all the incremental finance fees. Mgx confirmed you'd still have to pay it. Seems silly to me to sign up for a 12 dollar discount and then be forced to pay 6 dollars of incremental fees...
$6 was a small fee to pay since I purchased several of these and got a much bigger discount.

vomitWhy would Chinese pay you for using Zip split payments? Zip what now?
Good luck with finding m0r0ns who sell their info for a couple of bucks... Cool

Is this analogous to wanting a Porsche so bad that you're willing to buy one that has had its odometer reset and it has a Volkswagen engine?
This is the worst analogy I've ever heard.

Nice! No shade intended here. Glad you found the deal worthwhile, and thanks for sharing your experience!

edit: wrong post was quoted/replied to
I ended up biting and picking up more than one to make the finance charge worthwhile. I figured I already gave up my info to sign up for zip, may as well use it. Paid off all the finance payments. I've had good experiences with goharddrives, hopeful for another positive experience.

Crap! I brought 12TB drives 2 weeks ago. Thinking of I should go thru the trouble to return those and get these for the lower price/TB ratio
This is why we can't have nice things. Man up and take one for the team.

It still has all the Porsche internals. It's just that it has been driven hard for 50k miles or more so the drive train is more than half way through their typical life.

Odometer fraud. State AG would love to know.

The risk of needing to utilize the 5 year warranty? I'm trying to come up with reasons why I do need this cause I want it so bad.
For most hard drives that are well taken care of, they either fail in the beginning (due to manufacturing or shipping error) or they fail in the end (when their lifespan runs its course). They never usually fail in the middle. So in theory, if you test that drive enough in the beginning, you'll at least be able to trigger all its faults to go for that warranty.

No. It's buying a used Porsche that's been detailed. Just because it's not coming out of a Porsche dealership doesn't make it any less of a Porsche. Make sense?
But still has the odometer reset...

even at 87 dollars still not worth the risk
No risk if your data is backed up properly. If not I get it, it's expensive to have two NASs, and When I only had one, I would only buy new drives.

But now I have two and my data is double backed up. Additionally my backup NAS is a raid 1. So the risk of both failing at the same time is super duper small. This allows me to spend much less on drives and more on NAS equipment.

These NAS drives are solid, been using them for over 5 yrs w/o issue - can't vouch for the wty process as never used it.

Was almost tempted to grab half a dozen except the zip small print makes it a crappy deal. They charge $5 for a $200 installment payment so it's mot the worst but I'll pass.

If I needed them may be I would take the deal.
Just because you've decided to pay in installments and the installment company is charging you as expected… Does not make this a bad deal!
