Butting in with my "other four"... Clean Code, Refactoring, Design Patterns, and a good algos/data structures book like Intro to Algorithms.

But if I had to pick only one it would be Clean Code.

Excellent book. I read this 20ish years ago and credit it for a number of concepts finally clicking. I gifted my original copy a decade ago, so I'm snagging one of these for my bookshelf.

One of the five books I recommend as a programmer. That said, you might as well get an older edition, I don't feel like the newest edition adds much

Wow it's hardcover too, I usually see these tech books in paperback.

For some reason it showed a more expensive third party seller at first, had to select Amazon from the list

Is this a reference worth owning or should I just check it out from the library?

Love timeless books like this, but I have no space and now rely on digital editions. The one benefit is highlights are kept, easier navigation and searching.

Waiting for the digital edition sale!

I agree digital editions are good for the notes, also reading at night you can use dark mode. Some books I do like to scribble on with a pencil though, not sure that this is one of those.

At $25 and only 350ish pages I'll give this book some shelf space
