Right now there's a dell g15 laptop with the same processor, a full power rtx 4060, a 512gb ssd, and a worse (but still competent) screen on sale for $800: https://slickdeals.net/f/17396106-dell-g15-laptop-15-6-1080p-165hz-ryzen-7-7840hs-rtx-4060-16gb-ram-512gb-ssd-800-free-shipping
The 4070 in this laptop is approximately 20% faster in gaming on average than the 4060 and has the same amount of vram. So, you're paying 37.5% more money for 20% better gaming performance, the 1tb instead of 512gb ssd, the better screen, and the slightly better chassis. For more budget conscious buyers it doesn't make much sense. This is especially the case since the 4070's 8gb of vram will be more and more of an issue for 1440p gaming over time.
On the other hand, for those with higher budgets, at $1100 this gets within $500 of what rtx 4080 laptops go on sale for. The mobile rtx 4080 is approximately 55.5% faster on average than the 4070 in gaming at 1440p, and has 12gb of vram instead of 8gb. So for 45.45% more money you get 55% better gaming performance, and 50% more vram which will drastically extend the lifespan of your laptop for gaming. Additionally, 4080 laptops, like the one I link below, will often have better specs in other areas as well. So, for those with a higher budget, it makes far more sense to wait for a deal on a 4080 laptop at $1600 like this previous recent deal: https://slickdeals.net/f/17392086-acer-predator-helios-16-gaming-laptop-i9-13900hx-16-wqxga-240hz-1tb-ssd-rtx-4080-1600-free-s-h
Overall, while this isn't a bad price for a laptop with these specs, I still don't think it's the best option for most people. Those with tighter budgets would likely be better off getting the better value $800 dell g15 laptop deal I linked above, and upgrading a bit sooner if they must. Those with at least $1100 to spend would be better served stretching their budget to purchase a 4080 laptop. For those who absolutely can't afford to stretch their budget another $500, but really want a better screen and moderately better gaming performance even if it's a somewhat worse value, this laptop is a decent option. Still, the 8gb of vram is limiting for high tier gaming already, and will only continue to become more of an issue in the future. Since this laptop is flanked by meaningfully better value lower tier and higher tier options, I think this deal is only good for a very niche group of people.

I get it tho, that's more money throw at monitor, etc...Bang for your buck is the 4060 or 4080 you mentioned... I won't lie tho, I'm one of the few that loves ACER...

2- good luck finding another 4080 for $1600 without it being a non-OEM refurb or with 3 steps for financing
3- the ACER also comes with faster RAM
overall the ACER is much better, but if you only want brute performance then the DELL will fit that
I would go for this machine as, regardless of the GPU, it's just a better laptop overall

Moving on to your second point, there have been occasional sales for new 4080 laptops at $1600 for several months. The acer predator helios 4080 laptop deal (which has a better chassis, screen, and cpu than this nitro) that I linked in my first response in this thread was available at $1600 brand new from best buy less than a week ago. Just a couple weeks earlier, another predator helios 4080 laptop was available directly from acer for $1600 + $10 shipping: https://slickdeals.net/f/17362446-acer-predator-helios-16-16-qhd-240hz-i9-13900hx-rtx-4080-16gb-ddr5-1tb-ssd-1599-99
There have been a variety of other deals for laptops with 4080's at below $1700 over the past few months, and prices have continued to drop. For anyone willing to purchase refurbished, at this very moment lenovo is directly selling certified refurbished legion pro 7i 4080 laptops (a higher end laptop than this nitro with a better screen, cpu, and chassis in addition to the rtx 4080) for $1628 with standard 1yr warranty: https://slickdeals.net/f/17397573-lenovo-legion-pro-7i-cert-refurb-16-qhd-240hz-i9-13900hx-rtx-4080-16gb-ddr5-1tb-ssd-1628-24
Moving on to your third point, the faster ram in this nitro compared to the dell g15 is essentially moot. The additional memory bandwidth will have next to no impact on gaming with gpus of this performance tier, and won't meaningfully impact cpu performance outside of specific productivity workloads. While there are certain productivity workloads where the faster memory may have a meaningful impact, the vast majority of people with memory bandwidth dependent productivity workloads will upgrade to at least 32gb of ram. While I'm sure there's at least a couple of people out there with memory dependent workloads that fit within 16gb, that's a much more niche use case.
In conclusion, as I state in my original post, I don't think this is a bad price for a laptop with these specs, but I simply don't think it's the best option for most people. Those that don't need a laptop this instant and are more budget conscious would be better off waiting for another deal on a 4060 laptop with a similar value proposition to yesterday's dell g15 at $800. Those who can afford it would be much better off getting a 4080 laptop at $1600 when one inevitably pops up again. I can't help but think that many people would regret spending $1100 for a gaming laptop with only 8gb of vram a few years down the line. You're free to disagree with me though, those are just my personal opinions.

Imo, since we are talking about gaming laptops and the video card is the biggest factor in gaming performance, I would use the video card as a baseline when assessing value to these gaming laptops. 4060 laptops aren't going to vary in price as much vs other 4060 laptops and same with the 4070s and 4080s. It's not a perfect system but it offers a good starting point for assessing value.
As far as this laptop, this seems to be a pretty competitive price for a 4070. You have to decide whether all the accompanying pieces of this laptop is worth it compared to other 4070s yourself.
